Brands Hatch Rally 30 Jan 2011
Alex Cannon sponsored by the HR Dept Linda Percival. It was the first rally at Brands Hatch in 20 years. A full entry of 85 cars competed Rally World ran 2 Suzuki Swifts. The car of Alex Cannon came home in 36 overall and 5th in class the second car of Nick Jarvis came home in 48 and 7th in the class.
Baz cannon re united with the ford B200 EVO after 18 years
Baz Cannon former chief engineer at GSE and John Wheeler former chief engineer of ford motorsport started the evo RS200 something like 18 years ago. The car was to be the evolution of the B200 with lots of changes to the chassis and the most significant change the use of the Ford YB Cosworth engine . Groupe B cars were banned and the project was placed on the back burner. It has always been the dream of John Wheeler to rally this machine, so when Ford asked if we could do a press day with the B200 and the RS Focus we jumped at the chance of a days testing and some publicity in the Ford magazines. The day went very well and it is all systems go to get the car ready for its first event. More updates to follow as we get closer to the first competition.
RG Ford - Winners of the UK Broker Awards 2010
R G Ford Insurance Brokers, the business and personal insurance broker based in Chelmsford has picked up a winners trophy at the national UK Broker Awards, held in central London last Friday 10 September.
The business, which offers bespoke advice on all classes of business insurance including construction, motor fleet, professional indemnity and property owners as well as personal lines, was handed the Network Member of the Year award in front of an audience of more than 500 professionals from across the insurance industry.
The award recognises the services that the company has used as part of its Membership of Broker Network, the UK’s leading network for independent insurance brokers. As a Member, R G Ford Insurance Brokers has tapped into compliance, marketing and business development services to help maintain profits and protect new business income in a difficult market. The judging panel were impressed by R G Ford’s use of the range of services made available to them by the network and by the way the business showed evidence of both employees and customer benefitting as a result.
R G Ford is based on Railway Street in Chelmsford and was formed over 45 years ago.

Property – Slow Improvement in Market Conditions
Lending for residential property purchases has increased significantly in recent months – the July figure of £16 billion showing a 26 per cent rise over
June. August and September have both shown gross mortgage lending of about £12.5 billion, which, whilst a considerable improvement on the beginning of the year, is still well below levels seen a couple of years ago: in 2007, mortgage lending averaged over £30 billion per month. House prices have recently shown modest rises, helped by the fact that there has been an increase in demand at the lower end of the market, with more than a third of house purchases being made by first-time buyers.
